Our landscape designs promote harmony between your outdoor life and the natural world that surrounds your home. We build patios and outdoor kitchens to enhance cooking and entertaining, fire pits to warm up beside while stargazing, water features to inspire and relax beside, and pergolas to shade quiet moments. At Bella Terra we design with sensitivity and consideration for the lifestyles of our clients, the architecture of their homes, and the natural elements that surround the spaces we create.
Initial Meeting
Step 1: Let’s get to know one another! Our designer will meet you at your property for our preliminary interview. At this meeting we will show you our portfolio and design examples. The scale and complexity of your project will determine our design fee, which we can determine in the first meeting. Once we’ve agreed to work together we will sign a contract for landscape design service, receive a down payment, and the process will begin.
Listening & Consultation
Step 2: Our goal as designers is first to listen and learn about your interests, tastes and outdoor lifestyle, and get the scope of your vision and desires for your outdoor space. We then to use our knowledge to broaden and define the elements that will shape your outdoor living space. We encourage you to create a collection of inspiring images (start a collection on houzz.com, or compile images from a home and garden magazine, or a coffee table book). These images give our designer insights into the broad themes and subtle elements that comprise your dream landscape.
Site Survey
Step 3: We will collect all pertinent measurements and elevations to ensure accuracy and compliance with easements and building codes. It is our preference to obtain a site survey or plat drawing prior to beginning our design.
Design Process
Step 4: As landscape designers we are students of architecture, horticulture, art and science. We consider all these formal and natural elements as we develop your landscape design. We apply our knowledge, experience and creativity to answer the questions, solve the problems and customize your landscape design for you and your property.
Design Presentation
Step 5: Once we have completed the landscape design we will return for our presentation meeting. Our designer will explain the color rendered plan as well as 3D renderings where necessary. Photos of plants and featured elements will also be provided. The design presentation will also include an estimate for the construction of the complete project and discussion on schedule, project phases, and the path forward.
Breaking Ground
Step 6: The fun part begins! It’s time for our crew to shine. We are fortunate to have some of the best people on our construction crew – operating equipment and caring for plants. It’s hard work, but we love what we do.
Happy Hour
Step 7: Once the project is finished, it’s time to enjoy your new outdoor space. We will take a final walk-through with you and discuss all the details of plant care and maintenance, and the landscape features where necessary. We also offer garden maintenance services to ensure the continued health and vibrancy of all the living elements in your landscape.
